Pack a Lunch

Starting Sunday, September 14th, Greg’s bringing a packed lunch to church every Sunday. Feel free to bring your own packed lunch (keep it under your chair), and meal together after service.

Baby Dedication

We will be having a baby dedication on Sunday, October 19th. If you have a child you would like to have dedicated, or if you are interested about what this means for you & your child and want to learn more, please sign up in the Resource Room.

New City Catechism, Part 2

The New City Catechism (NCC) is a modern-day resource to help learn the core doctrines of the Christian faith via 52 questions and answers. Eric Fairhurst led the class through Part 1 of the book last year and is continuing on to Part 2. But if you missed Part 1, you can still join! The book is available in the Resource Room at no cost to those taking the class. This round will go through the first 8 questions of Part 2, from October 1st through November 19th and the remaining 7 questions from January 7th through February 18th. Sign up in the Resource Room!

STRIVE Mentors Needed

The “neighbor” part of our mission here at Southside speaks to our missional participation in our community. And one opportunity to be a neighbor is through STRIVE, a mentoring program created through a partnership between Catholic Charities of Wayne County and the Wayne County Juvenile Court. They recruit volunteer adult mentors from the community to be matched with Wayne County boys and girls, ages 10-17. Currently they have about 10 youth in the program. Specifically right now, they have three teen boys on a waiting list and are looking for 3 male mentors. If you would like to hear more or know someone who may be interested, please reach out to Amy Banaga at amy.banaga@ccdocle.org or 330-317-0236. There are also informational flyers at the information board in the lobby.

Women’s Ministry: Painting Pottery

Our women’s ministry team has reserved a time slot at 10:30am on Saturday, October 11th at LincWay Art Studio in Dalton to glaze pottery together. The cost is $15, just bring that the day of, and make sure to RSVP in the Resource Room! There’s also a cafe connected to the art studio so feel free to go as early as 10am to get a drink beforehand or hangout after we’ve finished painting and order lunch together.

Raising Funds for the Southside Connection Center

As the Management Team presented in June, we are raising funds to finish the Connection Center. Pick up a blue printout at the information board in the lobby detailing how much we need, how you can give, and the full purpose of that building. Please prayerfully consider how you might be able to join us in making this vision a reality.

Latest GRO Team Update

We've got the Southside Connection Center moved into its place! It's hiding a little behind the tree line but you can get a good view of it from the main front doors! We are continuing to raise funds to finish the interior and we will complete the work as the funds come in.

As of Sept 9th, we have raised $3,803.30.
