Chili Cook-Off Potluck
Join us on Thursday, November 5th at 6:00pm for a Chili Cook-Off! It’s a fun opportunity to come together as a whole church and connect with others who might attend a different sevice time than you on Sunday mornings. If you’d like to make a chili for the competition, sign up in the Resource Room. We’ll also need some sides and drinks; check out the sign up sheet in the Resource Room for that too!
Parenting: Tending the Vine, Trusting the Gardener
Wednesday, November 18, 6:30-8:00pm @ Southside
Greg will share some of the most valuable lessons he’s learned (and is still learning!) about parenting in the Kingdom. Biblical. Practical. Formational.
Childcare will be provided. RSVP in the Resource Room.
Everyone is invited, even if you don’t have kids. It may provide some insights as to how you were raised, or how you can be of help to others - it does, indeed, take a village.
Garden Team & Work Day
We’re nearing the end of the first year’s harvest of our Community Garden! And as the season closes, Stephanie Grenert is already planning ahead and taking steps for the garden to flourish again next year. To make that happen, we are in need of some volunteers on Sunday, October 25th. We will have a workday after the 10:30 service, terminating the summer crops, pulling weeds, and mulching.
We will also need volunteers to join our Garden Team for next year. After the 10:30 service on Sunday, November 15th, Stephanie will hold a meeting for all those interested in being on our Garden Team. Lunch will be provided. Please RSVP in the Resource Room.
Southside Fall Read
As we had read Ordinary over the summer, Greg has selected another book for the fall season that we're encouraging everyone to read together as a church. It's called An Unhurried Life: Following Jesus' Rhythms of Work and Rest by Alan Fadling. We’re reading just one chapter a week. The last 3 copies are available in the Resource Room for $10 each.
Wish List
We have an Amazon wish list that we update periodically with current needs as an option to serve Southside for those who are looking for small sporadic opportunities. Purchasing items from this list helps to make our Sunday morning gatherings thrive - anything from diapers for the nursery, to snacks for our Kids Ministry, to basic cleaning supplies.
