Summer Baptism Details
Don’t show up here at Southside on Sunday, July 12! Instead, join us for our Baptism Picnic: 10:30am @ Pine Lake Event Center. It’s a beautiful outdoor venue located at 3645 Overton Rd, Wooster. This replaces both regular Sunday morning services. If you would like to be baptized, talk to Greg or email him at greg@southsidewooster.com
Food - large pavilion with seating for all. Pulled pork, chicken thighs, and ribs will be provided (by Alex Kacere’s food truck Kobo’s BBQ). Please bring salads, sides, and desserts. Bottled water will be provided, otherwise BYOD. Fridge space and electric will be available.
Baptism and message - We’ll be under the pavilion for the message and take a short 30 yard walk toward the water for the baptism portion.
Benevolence reminder - In addition to our regular giving, we take a special offering for our benevolence fund at every potluck. The benevolence fund has been used to provide support for medical bills, Christmas gifts, toiletries, gas cards and general support for Southside families.

Summer Read
Greg has introduced a new reading practice for Southside this summer. We are all invited to read the book, Ordinary, by Michael Horton. Each week, Greg gives some reflections on the chapter through our Weekly Equipping Brief podcast. This is another way we are praying that God would grow and mature us as a community of disciples of Jesus!

A Southside Neighbor
We’ve learned of a need of one of our literal neighbors here at Southside and we’re working to fill that need. He’s an older gentleman whose wife has recently gone into a nursing home and he would love some company once a week to spend time with him and chat about sports or whatever! The benevolence team is creating a rotation of Southsiders to visit, so if you would be interested in being one of those to go over to his house periodically, please let Sarah Banks know (330-338-2499).
Southside Garden
We’ve started a community garden this year, here on our property, and it will hold much more value than simply the fruit it bears. Greg created a few videos sharing the vision of this garden, highlighting it as a tool for spiritual growth, especially for our kids at Southside. (Check out the first one here - you don't need to have a Facebook profile to watch!)
Stephanie Grenert is leading a small team preparing the ground and maintaining the garden. If you are willing to be a helper at any point in the process, please email her at stephanie.grenert@gmail.com.
If you feel led to make a donation towards the start up costs, we are still looking to raise $2,000 for a rain collection system and deer fence, and you can give directly towards our “Community Garden” fund online here.

You can also download the Church Center app and view it from there. Both options will have you login with your email or phone number.

Save Your Change
In August, we’ll be participating in a baby bottle drive to raise funds for the Pregnancy Care Center in Wooster. We wanted to give a heads up now so you have time to save your loose change to fill some baby bottles in a couple months!
