Summer Baptism Picnic

Don’t show up here at Southside on August 10th. Instead join us at 10:30am at the Pine Lake Event Center for our baptism picnic! It’s a beautiful outdoor venue located at 3645 Overton Rd, Wooster, OH 44691. Pulled pork and pulled chicken will be provided, but it’s not complete without sides! Please bring a salad, fruit or veggie tray, other sides, or dessert.

If you would like to be baptized at our summer baptism picnic on August 10th, please reach out to Alex Kacere. He’ll be leading a baptism class on Sunday, July 20th at 9:00am to help understand more about baptism and answer any questions. Kids Ministry Volunteers Needed

We previously mentioned needing nursery volunteers, but we also need a couple more volunteers in all our kids rooms. Whether you might start helping monthly, quarterly, or just as a backup to fill in as needed, our Kids Ministry leaders would love to have you join their team. And you don’t have to volunteer alone. Grab a friend or your spouse and volunteer together! If you’re interested, talk to Bobby Anderson or email us at info@southsidewooster.com to let us know!

Raising Funds for the Southside Connection Center

If you missed the announcement last week, the Management Team presented our need for financial help in finishing the Connection Center (aka the shed that will become an awesome building!). There are blue printouts you can pick up at the information board in the lobby detailing the funds needed, how you can give, and the full purpose of that building. Please prayerfully consider how you might be able to join us in making this vision a reality.

Summer of Giving

For the month of July, we want to look outside of ourselves here at Southside and serve the larger Kingdom. Check out the yellow flyers at the table in the lobby to learn more about the 4 organizations we’re supporting and see if 1 or 2 of them stand out to you to partner with. We will be collecting donations at that table throughout the month.

Summer Prayer Nights

Let’s bring that sweet spirit of prayer back to Southside. On the last Wednesday of June, July, and August from 7:00-8:00pm, the church will be open to come pray together in groups or on your own simply near others. Hank Curry will be there each month and will have prompts to pray through for those who would find that helpful, but it’s simply an open invitation to make time to silently reflect, pray, and commune with God.

A Note About Sabbatical

Greg & Cara are currently on sabbatical and will return on August 10th. In the meantime, for any and all church questions, Bobby or Janelle can answer those questions or connect you with someone who can.

Latest GRO Team Update

The ground has been leveled and prepared for the Southside Connection Center to be moved to its permanent location at the northeast section of our yard. We expect to have it moved within 2 weeks. As presented on June 22nd, the Management Team is asking for financial help to finish the interior and we will complete the work as the funds come in.
