Fair Sunday - No Services
As we’ve done for the past few years, there will be no regular Sunday morning services on September 13th at Southside. Many in the community are involved with the Fair and this is one unique way we’ve found to care for our volunteers in providing space for rest during busy seasons. Feel free to spend a slow morning at home with Jesus, visit another local church, or head down to the church service at the Wayne County Fair!
Baby Dedication - Nov 8th
We will be having a baby dedication on Sunday, November 8th at our 10:30am service. If you have a child you would like to have dedicated, or if you are interested about what this means for you and your child and want to learn more, please sign up in the Resource Room by October 11th.
Best Care Workshop
How can we listen so people feel heard? What helps people become more open? How do we make a difference in a community with so many needs? Care is more powerful than we think. People respond differently when they know they are genuinely cared for. Dan Hettinger has distilled his ministry experiences in the church and the clinical world into The 7 Essentials for Caring That Make a Difference. These 7 Essentials identify what it takes to care effectively - helping us turn our concern and good intentions into care people can actually experience. And we can all become people who care this way!
On September 26th, from 9am-12pm here at Southside, come discover how caring effectively can make a difference in your life, your personal ministry, your relationships, and with the people God has placed around you. Sign up in the Resource Room!
Membership & Serving Forms
Through the month of September, we will have 2 separate forms available that we want you to consider filling out. One is our Membership Commitments Form to be completed if you would like to be a member at Southside for the coming year. The second is our Southsiders Serving Others form for all that call Southside home. We appreciate your attention to these logistical pieces that help us stay organized! You can turn completed forms in at the Welcome Desk in the lobby.
Annual Congregational Meeting
October 14th, 7:00-8:30pm
Southside is growing up – we’re in our "childhood” stage as a church (we’ll be 8 years old in November!). There are certain predictable opportunities and challenges that come with this stage, and we’d like to get ahead of them. At our first annual Congregational Meeting, we’ll cover a lot! Why we planted a church in Wooster. Where we’ve come from as a church. Where we’re headed. What we feel needs some attention. Clarity is kindness – and we pray this meeting will provide plenty of clarity. We’ll even throw in a vote for some changes we’d like to make in our bylaws. (We’ll make sure you get a copy of those before the meeting.) It will be an important meeting, a time to renew our vision of what it means to be a vibrant community of disciples, lovingly connected to the vine, and to one another through Christ. We hope you’ll consider making it a priority in your calendar.

Wish List
We have an Amazon wish list that we update periodically with current needs as an option to serve Southside for those who are looking for small sporadic opportunities. Purchasing items from this list helps to make our Sunday morning gatherings thrive - anything from diapers for the nursery, to snacks for our Kids Ministry, to basic cleaning supplies.
